Internal Mechanical Testing Results
The Activforce sensor (ActivBody Inc, San Diego, California, USA) was measured for calibration over the range of 0 to 50 kg (110 LBS) using mechanical testing equipment to avoid human error in evaluation. The Activforce sensor is not able to read small forces, however, the testing apparatus device exceeded this minimum force reading, permitting low to high force testing that would serve individuals across developmental ages for sport participation up to professional athletes.
Given the results of mechanical testing below, the Activforce sensor indicates high accuracy up to approximately 100 lbs making the internal components suitable for testing throwing arm strength in various positions. Suggested possible reasons for losing tolerance after the recommended load limits could be accounted for by user operation considerations, deformation of the plastic housing, contact of the battery cover with the sides of the housing and there may be other reasons inherent to the design of the manufacture that are not assessed that may impact results.
